BBC Highfield氏発言まとめ（のようなもの）

Content is the KingからContent is not the only Kingへ。
おもしろいのは、Highfield氏の発言の中に、
"Content is not king. I see a triumverate of content, quality and functionality. The BBC is based on the first two. But Google and eBay are based on functionality."
というくだりがあることだ。
triumverateつまり、三頭政治。コンテンツと品質と機能性の三頭政治にあり、BBCは、コンテンツと品質に立脚し、グーグルとeBayは、後者の２つ、つまり、品質と機能性に立脚しているという。

また、メディア会社は、コンテンツだけを制作・保有しているだけではだめで、メディア会社は、技術会社でなくてはならない、というのは、同時期に行われたWeb2.0でのYahoo!のCEOの発言と呼応している。

最後に、
BBC would actually produce less content not more, and act as aggregators and trusted guides to user generated content like blogs.
というのは、その通りかもしれない。
